Janet Sue Klein

Janet was born in 1948 in Yonkers, New York. She was part of a very close extended family and is still very close to her cousins. She graduated from Kent State University as an art major. She was a teacher and then worked as a service rep for AT&T for about 10years. She married Ken Klein in 1978. In 1980 they moved to Los Angeles, CA. She became a full time mom in 1986 when Scott, her first son was born. In 1987, her daughter, Tracy was born.

When she was not taking care of her children, Janet was following her passion — riding horses and competing in horse shows. She participated in dressage events and jumping events. Horses were and continued to be her passion for her entire life. Nothing pleased her more than to spend her days playing with her kids and riding her horse.

Janet was stricken by cancer in 1996. She courageously battled the disease on and off for 22 years. In the end, cancer decimated her body. However, till the day she died, her spirit never succumbed to the cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 40 years, two devoted children, a daughter in law and a beautiful granddaughter named Brooke Lynn, all of whom miss her dearly.

Funeral services for Janet will be held on Sunday, April 15, 20185, 10:00am at Eden Memorial Park, 11500 Sepulveda Blvd., Mission Hills, CA 91345. Burial will follow. Services will be officiated by Rabbi Michael Barclay.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have donations made to The City of Hope in Janet's memory.
