Ruth Hoehne Nielsen

Ruth passed away suddenly but peacefully at Mission Memorial Hospital on Feb. 5, 2011 at the age of 75. Lovingly remembered by her son Bob & daughter-in-law Marjorie, grandsons Travis (Sandra), Troy (Celina), Trevor (Jenny) & great-grandchildren Hayden, Alexis, Bryce & Kaillie. Ruth will be sadly missed by her brother & sister-in-law Arthur & Ella Hoehne of Westlock, Alberta as well as her sister & brother-in-law Hilda & Eric Schultz of Salmon Arm, BC and many family and friends.

Ruth was born in Minitonas, Manitoba, moving to Vancouver in 1955 to become a psychiatric nurse. She worked her entire career at Riverview Hospital until disability forced her to retire. Ruth loved spending time with family & friends, especially her 4 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She also enjoyed browsing through thrift stores with her niece, Elaine Johnston, always finding some treasured item she could add to her collection of salt & pepper shakers, spoons, books & blue glassware. Thank you to all the staff & residents of the Cedarbrooke Chateau in Mission for making her time there so enjoyable.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Feb. 25, 2011 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Kingsway Arms Cedarbrooke Chateau, 32331 7th Avenue, Mission, BC.
