Upon his return Pat moved his wife and two children to Ottawa to follow his new career with the Federal Government. He advanced to Director General of Emergency Planning Canada.
After retirement, he and Frances lived in Malaysia for several years where he volunteered as a consultant for the Malay Government.
Upon his return to Ottawa he obtained his Masters in Divinity and served as a minister in both Ontario and Mission BC in order to serve his community.
Since moving west in 1989 Pat was active in the Mission community. After his wife Frances died Pat found love again with Leona Holmes and they married in 2000. His active interests and hobbies throughout his life ranged from music, choral groups, art, travel, education to scientific discoveries and world events. He was also a published author and historian
