Ronald L. Stokes

He was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School. After serving four years in the AirForce, he started his career with General Motors as a parts salesman. He continued selling parts in the Charlotte area for over 30 years until his retirement. Ron has been a member of the Hornet’s Nest Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America for over 35 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #742 in Mint Hill and was very proud to have accomplished the Scottish Rite title in his later years. Mr. Stokes was an active member of Mint Hill Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Mullis Stokes; two daughters, Sondra (Mark) Mahar and Amy Stokes; one grandson, Mike Mahar and his brother Billy Joe (Lyde) Stokes.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Martha Jane Stokes precedes him in death.

A funeral service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 25th of November, 2015 at McEwen Funeral –Service Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227 with Pastor Richard Brueck officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time.

Interment will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cornelius, NC.

The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Mint Hill Presbyterian Church, 8528 Brief Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227 or to any Hospice organization.
