Betty Blalock Ross

Mrs. Ross, age 81, of Matthews, died Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Novant Health in Charlotte, NC. Born September 8, 1933 in Charlotte NC, she was the daughter of the late Ralph J. Blalock and Jewell M. Blalock; she was preceded in death by her husband Lester Harold Ross to who she was married to 63 ½ years.

Mrs. Ross retired from Rexham. She started out in the Order department before becoming a sales secretary and remained in that position until her retirement in 1991. Mrs. Ross was a long time member of Midwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Ross enjoyed her family so much. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved the annual beach trip with the family. She also enjoyed her fall trip to Pigeon Forge, TN.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM-2:00PM Sunday, July 12th at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel. Service to celebrate the life of Betty Blalock Ross will follow at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with her pastor, Reverend Garry Baldwin, officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park.

Survivors include two children, Beverly Taylor and husband Chuck and Bruce Ross and wife JoAnn; five grandchildren, Tracie Booker and husband Austin, Jordan Taylor and wife Erin, Evan Taylor and fiancée Mariel Mena, Amanda Starnes and husband Kevin and Morgan Ross and boyfriend Drew Holt; six great grandchildren, Avery, Peyton and Carson Booker, Kylie and Ava Taylor and William Starnes; one brother Ralph J. Blalock, Jr.
