Ken was born and raised in Marquette, Michigan, and is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Anne; step-mother, Hazel; daughter, Laura; sister Fran; sister-in-law, Bunny; brothers-in-law Dick and John; and niece, Barbara.
Ken is survived by his wife, Virginia, whom he lovingly cared for as long as he was able, and then visited as often as he could; sons, Howard (Akiko) and Jeffrey (Helen); grandchildren, Ken, Grace, Tom, Sam and Matthew; along with Ken’s siblings Jack (Ellen), Fred (Pat), Joan (Greg); brothers-in-law Ted and Bob; sisters-in-law, Marj and Evelyn; and many nieces and nephews.
Ken lived life to the fullest, was a man of Faith, loved to work (up until the very end), and volunteered his time and talents to many wonderful organizations over the years, including The College of St. Benedict (Board of Trustees), Basilica of St. Mary, and Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. Out of all of his volunteer activities, he was most proud of (and grateful for) his time with the Civil Air Patrol (U.S. Air Force Auxiliary), where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after more than 31 years of dedicated service, first at North Hennepin Composite Squadron at the Crystal Airport, and most recently as Finance Officer at Minnesota Wing Headquarter at South St. Paul Airport.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (835 2nd Ave NW, New Brighton, MN 55112), with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, N.
