John E. Borgstrom

John E. Borgstrom, 76, passed away on August 19. He was born in St. Paul and grew up in the Midway area. He graduated from Wilson High School (’64) and attended one year at Hamline before joining the family hardware business. Together they owned Coast to Coast hardware, first located in Burnsville and then for almost 20 years at Har Mar Mall in Roseville. After closing in 1988, John worked at Menard’s in Maplewood, where he retired in 2009. He was known for his vast knowledge of the hardware business and treated everyone with respect. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Arline (Nyberg) Borgstrom, and older brother, Skip. His easy-going personality and deep love will be greatly missed by his wife of almost 50 years, Linda, their children, Ivy (Bill) Huston and Tim (Jamie) Borgstrom and beloved granddaughters, Nora Lyn and Emma Jane along with nephews and nieces, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29 from 4:00-7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Chapel (2250 St. Anthony Blvd, Minneapolis). The Memorial Service will be held at Roseville Lutheran Church (1215 Roselawn Ave. W, Roseville) on Tuesday, August 30 at 11:00am with visitation, one hour beforehand and lunch and burial following the service.
