Donald served in the US Navy during WWII. At the age of 16, Donald started his work with 3M and continued to be a loyal employee for 42 years. What he loved most was time spent in the outdoors, either hunting or fishing. He also enjoyed quality time spent with his family.
Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Marlys; son-in-law, Bob Nowak; mother, Clara Messier; and father, Ralph Kinney.
Donald is survived by his children: Mary Jane (Jim) Johnson, Donna Kinney (Walter Awada), Donald Kinney, Sue Nowak, Mark (Michelle) Kinney, Cheryl (Rick) Kaderlik, and David (Laurie) Kinney; 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
The family would like to also thank Inver Glen and St Croix Hospice for the care they gave our father.
Funeral services at 11AM, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Chapel (2250 St. Anthony Blvd NE, Minneapolis, MN) with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
