Betty loved to love on and mother people. She was known as the “Mother and Queen” of the jets (projects). She would often cook and feed everyone in the neighborhood. Her home is where you could stop and get cussed out and a warm meal all in the name of love. To know her is to Love her!!
For many years Betty worked in restaurants on Broadway in North Minneapolis. It suited her bubbly personality and loving and caring heart. She said she enjoyed it because of the many people she got to come across and meet each day. She retired early to be a fulltime grandmother and enjoy life.
Her life was a living example of our favorite quote “Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and wrong…because sometime in your life you would have been all off these”
Betty is survived by her fiancé Florentino Smith, brother Larry Mollison (Terri), sister Joy Faith Trotter (Henry); her son Marquies and his wife Chivonne Harston-Trotter; 2 daughters Luvenia and Elizabeth Trotter; plus 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; aunts, uncles, cousins and her many friends. All of these in which she loved and touched deeply.
