Steve was a native of Pace born to Norman B. “Dooley” and Peggy Cooper on May 11, 1955. Steve had a love for fishing and Alabama Football.
Steve is preceded in death by his father, Norman B. “Dooley” Cooper; and his sister, Elaine Cooper Thompson.
Steve is survived by his mother, Peggy J. Cooper; one brother Ronnie (Peggy) Cooper; one sister, Beverly (Darren) Dowler; 8 nieces and nephews, Michael Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Shane (Megan) Cooper, Chris Smith, Brandon (Connie) Pruner, Dustin Dowler, Shannon (Nicole) Cooper, and Courtney Dowler. 5 great nieces and nephews, Kadence Dowler, Kayla Thompson, Samayah Pruner, Hunter Smith, and Cody Smith.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a memorial service at 12 p.m. at the National Cremation & Burial Society in Milton, Florida with Brother Michael Montgomery officiating. An interment will follow at the Milton Cemetery. Pallbearers are Darren Dowler, Dustin Dowler, Shane Cooper, Brandon Pruner, EJ Grimes, and Mike Scott. Honorary Pallbearers are Shannon Cooper, Butch Locklin Jr., Dave Nordby, and Joe Grimes.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice and Santa Rosa Medical Center for the love and care they have given to their son, brother, and uncle, during his time of illness.
The family would also like to give a special thanks to Steve’s best friends Sharon Scott, Nese Clark, Butch Locklin Jr., and E.J Grimes for all the love, care, and help they have extended to Steve and our entire family.
