Charles H. Carter Sr., 90, previously of Wolcott, CT, died on March 13, 2019 in Milton, FL, of congestive heart failure, surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born in Oakville, CT, on June 16, 1928. He worked for Connecticut Light and Power as Chief Cable Splicer for 40 years, retiring in 1994. He was preceded in death by his parents; Albert (Bits) and Mary (Susarchick) Carter, sister; Regina Yarnell and grandson; Michael King. He loved traveling, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, China Marine Battalion VMF 211. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years; Marilyn (Johnson) Carter, daughters; Cheryl (Carter) King, Cynthia Carter, and son; Charles H. Carter Jr., (Laurie), all residing in Florida, step-daughter; Lisa (Romans) King of Clinton, CT and step-son; Robert Romans of MA, grandchildren; Matthew J. King Sr., of E. Haddam, Margaret (Maggie) King of Clinton, Denae Holified of FL, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
