Joseph Paul Perrotta of Ridge New York, passed away on December 21, 2017. Michael and I want to honor our dad's amazing life. He was born on Christmas day 1940, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He grew up in post war America with plenty of stickball and solid family values. Dad graduated from Alexander Hamilton Technical High in Brooklyn with a drafting certificate. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served two years during the Vietnam War. His expertise was as a sharpshooter with a rifle. Always looking for advancement, he got a position as a tabulating machine operator at the dawn of the computer age. This would help him tremendously in civilian life. He used his army experience with payroll and data processing to start a computer career that spanned from 1969 to 2000. Dad always taught Michael and Paul that relationships and networking are the key to a successful life. His computer career spanned multiple Wall Street firms that included Wagner Stott, Paine Webber, Blyth Eastman Dillon and Goldman Sachs. Dad married Helen Ann in November 1966 and raised his two boys; Paul and Michael in Rosedale Queens and Hauppauge, N.Y. College Educations were a priority and he proudly funded the costs with his solid salary. Joe had an easy going attitude and never worried about anything. Music was a BIG part of his life. He played electric guitar and classical guitar. The stereo was always on when he was home. Dad was a big fan of rock, jazz, blues and classical music. Joe also enjoyed photography and prided himself on being able to own and use the famous Leica M6, all manual camera, that is highly respected in professional photography circles. Joe was a huge car enthusiast and owned many makes and models which included; 1955 Chevy Bel-Air, 1962 Chevy Nova, 1971 AMC Hornet, 1972 Fiat 128, 1979 Chrysler Cordoba, 1974 Mazda 3, 1983 Pontiac Bonneville, 1992 Honda Prelude, 1998 Cadillac Eldorado, 1999 Acura Integra, 2000 BMW 328i, 2002 BMW 5 series, 2004 BMW Z4 convertible, Mercedes E series, 2006 Mercedes Benz White, 2008 white, 2010 silver and 2012 Gray. In closing, Joe was a respected father, husband and friend to all those who were a part of his life. He will always be in our hearts. Joe is predeceased by his beloved wife Helen Ann. He is survived by his two loving son's Paul and his wife Mary, and Michael and his wife Lori. A dear sister Phyllis Budway and her husband John. Reposing at the O.B. Davis Funeral Home, 1001 Rt. 25A, Miller Place, New York. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark's R.C. Church, Shoreham, N.Y. 10 am. Wednesday. Burial with Honors will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
