John D. Rung Jr.

Predeceased by his beloved Frances with whom he spent 38 beautiful years of marriage. John leaves behind his children; Christine and her husband John Barry, Elizabeth and her husband Robert Whitney, John Rung and his wife Melissa and Daniel Rung and his wife Barbara. His grandchildren; Jillian Barry (Kenny Kursul), JT Barry (Katie Hartig), Alexander Barry (Vivana AstuDillo), Ryan Barry, Candace Whitney (Katrina Whitney), Deanna Whitney (Evan Brown), Daniel Rung, Justin Rung, Jack Rung, and Graham Rung. Reunited again with his brother Kenneth, John leaves behind his brothers and sister; Dorothy Miguel, Richard Rung and James Rung.

John's family will reminisce about the wonderful childhood memories he gifted his family, with yearly trips to Maine and the Catskills.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Those who were fortunate enough to know John will deeply miss him.

A visitation for John will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A visitation will occur Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Infant Jesus Church, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Port Jefferson, NY. An entombment will occur Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3442 NY-112, Coram, NY.
