Dominic Buonanno, 85, of Leisure Glen, passed away peacefully on October 5th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Marcia, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. He was the cherished father of Joseph and Michael, and Michael’s wife, Linda Malloy-Buonanno. Dominic was the adored grandfather of Peter, Daniel, and Sarah. He is also survived by his loving sister, Dorothy Papa, and her husband Bill Papa; his sister-in-law, Renee Weiner, and her husband Richard Weiner; and many loving nephews and nieces. His grand-dog, Rocky, also held a special place in his heart.
Dominic proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1962 to 1964. After his military service, he pursued a career as a certified public accountant, running his own successful practice for more than 40 years. His partnership with his wife Marcia extended beyond their personal lives, as they worked together professionally for much of his career. Dominic was not only a trusted advisor to his many clients but also a loyal and caring friend to them.
A passionate sports fan, Dominic followed the New York Giants closely and had a lifelong love for sports. In his youth, he played football and continued to enjoy tennis, racquetball, golf, and bocce throughout his life. His love of the game extended beyond just playing—he was an active member of the Dolce Duffers Golf Club, Leisure Glen Golf Club, and the Leisure Glen Twilight Bocce-Beanbags Club.
In addition to his professional and athletic pursuits, Dominic was a talented artist who expressed himself through drawing, painting, and photography. He had a keen eye for capturing the beauty of the world around him, whether through the stroke of a brush or the click of a camera.
Above all, Dominic will be remembered as a loving family man, a fun and caring friend, and a trusted confidant to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His kindness, wisdom, and generosity touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
