It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brian, our beloved husband, dearest Dad, and loving Papa. He left us peacefully on the evening of January 4, 2023, as the result of his pulmonary fibrosis illness.
Born on July 28, 1954 in Rockville Centre to Zita and Edwin McEnany, Brian grew up in a loving home in Levittown, NY., and later Lake Grove NY. After graduating from Oswego State University in 1976, he entered the world of banking as a manager trainee, and retired in 2021 as Senior Vice-President of Operations from BankUnited. Over the years, he worked for various banking institutions, and accumulated many life-long friends along the way. He was well-liked and respected by many.
Brian met his wife Carol Cornelius while attending Centereach High School, and they were married in 1979. They were blessed with three children: Shauna Micallef (Adam), Ryan McEnany, and Kaitlin Torriero, as well as ten grandchildren: Adara, Isabella, Kalysta, Jackson, Brian, Rhys, Danika, Declan, Wesley and Juliette.
Predeceased by his brother Dennis (Jan), he also leaves behind his sister Kathleen (Richard), his brother Tom (Lisa), as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and much loved sisters and brothers in-law.
Brian enjoyed, and was most proud of his family, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Whether playing a game of cards, traveling together, or helping guide them through some of life’s challenges, he was always ready to help in any way possible. He was a very generous husband, Dad and Papa to us all.
A visitation for Brian will be held Monday, January 9, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM as well as Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at O.B. Davis Funeral Home in Miller Place. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St Louis de Montfort RC Church, 75 New York Ave, Sound Beach, New York 11789. An interment will occur Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 11:45 AM at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3442 Route 112, Coram, New York 11933.
