Spence lived a loving and full life for 65-years with his South High sweetheart and partner, Lucille Carol Millis Simons, who preceded him in death. They were married on July 9th, 1948, and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Lucy passed away on March 3rd, 2013. Together they raised their family of four in Salt Lake City, Boise, Idaho, and Richland, Washington.
Spence was an accomplished tap dancer from the young age of 5½ and tapped until he hung up his shoes after his final performance at his 50th high school reunion. Spence enjoyed an active outdoor life of hunting and sports with his family and friends. He was the consummate traveling salesman with a successful career in the medical X-ray business, including founding Simons X-Ray Corp.
Spence is survived by his children; Connie (William) McKee, Salt Lake City; Scott (Jennifer) Simons, Park City; Wendy Simons, Park City; and Ted Simons, Denver; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and sisters Beverly Merrill and Bonnie Malmrose, and brother Harvey Simons.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, February 21st at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Spence’s Life to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S Highland Drive.
