1925 ~ 2010
On September 12, 2010, our father and grandfather, Robert L. Burchett, passed away peacefully after a happy life of almost 85 years. As we feel a loss of his close companionship, we know that he has been reunited with his companion of 43 years, Beulah (Kit), who preceded him in death. Their sweet reunion, along with that of parents, brothers, sisters and friends assure a new dawn in his grand, eternal life.
Bob was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 19, 1925 to Harry and Henrietta Burchett. He graduated from South High School and enlisted in the Air Force at age 18, became a cryptographer and served in the WWII South Pacific Campaign.
He married Lola Marx in 1946. Together they had two children, Lorrie Kathleen Norman (Merrill), Salt Lake City, and Robert Lynn Burchett, Heyburn, Idaho. Bob’s career included various accounting and contracting positions in residential housing. He was the family handy man.
In 1964 Bob married Beulah Childs Crump, who lost her spouse in 1957. Bob became a second father to her two children, Connie Hayes (Norm) and Gary (Helen Joan).
Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Always the gentleman, Bob was known for his warmth and gracious regard for others, including the kind medical staff at Lakeview Hospital. Your loving and exemplary seven week battle with leukemia is engraved in our hearts, it will always be so on both sides of the veil. We love you Dad!
In addition to his children, he is survived by 17 grandchildren and 61 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters (Muriel, Verna), brothers (Harry, Jay and Bill).
