Mark was born on October 25, 1953 in Salt Lake City to Raymond and Sharon (Hamby) Jackson. He grew up with his five brothers in Kearns, UT.
Mark received an Associate Degree from ITT Technical Institute and worked for the University of Utah Hospital for 26 years, retiring as a senior systems analyst.
Mark enjoyed riding his Harley as often as possible. He joined the Harley Owners Group in 2006 and was very involved in the chapter, holding various offices during his tenure. He traveled across the country with his wife, Judy, his brothers, and his many friends from the Harley group. Mark loved sharing the stories of his many adventures on the road.
Mark was a member of the LDS church and was sealed to his parents. The church served as a pillar of comfort and guidance in Mark’s life. Working within the Church became one of his greatest passions in recent years.
Mark took pride in being of service for those he knew. He was always enthusiastic to offer his guidance and counsel to those he loved. He chose to see the good in people and endeavored to help grow and enrich the light he saw in each of us. He will be remembered as the life of the party with his contagious laugh, the cheeky twinkle in his eyes, and his heart of gold.
Above all else, Dad loved being a grandpa. His time spent with his grandchildren were, without a doubt, some of his most cherished memories. He loved sharing stories about each of his grandkids, always remarking on how each of them warmed his heart.
Mark is survived by his wife, Judy; his brothers Ray and Melanie Jackson, Bob and Amy Jackson, Charles Jackson, John and Tawna Jackson, and James Jackson; his children Jennifer Hartigan, Scott Jackson, Wendy Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Aaron Jackson, and Angie and Steve Jeffers; his grandchildren Garrett, Hanna, Reilly, Owen, Craig, and Zaiden. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Sharon.
The funeral will take place at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary on February 8, 2022. The viewing will be held at 9:00 AM with the service immediately following at 10:00 AM.
