Margaret was born in Idaho Falls, ID in Feb 1945 to Elden Phineas Lee and Millicent Porter Lee. She graduated from Bonneville High School where she was very involved in band and music - playing the French horn and piano. Margaret took her love of music to Brigham Young University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in music and secondary education. At BYU she also met her perfect match and future eternal companion Glen Hanson on a blind date.
Glen and Margaret were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 10, 1967. This was the beginning of a wonderful eternal friendship and partnership. Margaret was always a complete support to Glen in his career endeavors while he supported and encouraged her in all of her artistic interests including piano, voice and painting. Margaret loved the arts and she was committed to developing her artistic talents and sharing them with others. She was an accomplished pianist and taught piano lessons for 40 years. Always learning, she took voice, piano and watercolor painting lessons for many years. Margaret used her musical talents in many service capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She sang in and conducted countless choirs and productions including many years conducting the Messiah at Christmastime in the Olympus Cove area. She wrote music for local church productions and played the organ at church for many years. One of her life highlights was conducting a regional choir at the Tabernacle on Temple Square.
As much as she loved the arts, Margaret’s priority was her family and she was the best mother and friend. Always a comforting friend to her children and all who knew her, Margaret was an example of Christ-like love. She taught the gospel of Jesus Christ to her children and lived it in her actions and they will be eternally grateful. She is well-loved and the impact of her service to her family cannot be measured.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Glen Hanson, her children Stacy (Craig) Boynton, Kerry (Mark) Jensen, Kim (Jeff) Martin , Kathryn (Mike) Ellsworth , Kristine (Mike) Crosby and Jarom (Liina) Hanson , 26 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren (and one on the way), siblings Linda Tobler, brother-in-law Alvie Christensen, and brother Brent (Carol) Lee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Carole Morrow and Gloria Christensen and granddaughter Emilia Hanson.
