Our beloved Mom and Nana, Linda Snow Larson, surrounded by loving family in her home, peacefully returned to Heaven on the morning of September 13, 2021, following a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born on July 5th, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah to mother, Burma Celia Thompson Snow and father, LeRoi Clarence Snow. We know there is a great, happy reunion going on with many family members, friends, and all her pups.
Linda grew up in the Sugar House area and is the youngest of six children. She had a very happy childhood and adored her mother. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a teenager, she worked in food services at LDS hospital and later, as an operator for the telephone company. After years of serving as a stay-at-home mom, she went on to work as a dedicated Nursing Supervisor at St. Mark’s Hospital for 17 years.
Linda attended Irving Junior high school and continued to graduate from South High School where she met her future husband, our Dad, Carl David Larson. They were married March 14, 1958, in Memory Grove, Utah and raised five children at their home in Millcreek. Linda’s interests and hobbies included cooking, gardening, collecting Madam Alexander dolls, shopping for treasures of all kinds, and the families’ many boating trips to Lake Powell. She was a very talented seamstress. She made many beautiful dresses, and other items, for her children and grandchildren. Mom loved Aruba! The sun and sand and being with her girls who were able to go. She treasured this time with family in her sunny, beautiful, favorite place and so looked forward to the yearly trips. Her real passion was for all her many dogs. She was a lifetime member of the Intermountain Kennel Club where she served as their Home Secretary and Chief Ring Steward for many years. She was also the AKC delegate and loved to travel to New York for meetings. She bred many champion dogs and made many lasting friendships that she held dearly throughout her life. She passed down the love of animals to all 5 of her children and, she loved that.
Mom always paid attention to details with beautiful wrapping, coordinating paper and bows, for all of the gifts she gave. She knew all our favorites and would search high and low to find that which we would love the most. We will miss the way she made each of us feel important. Another way she showed love for her family was by planning and preparing delicious meals. There was not a day that went by without a home cooked meal. She passed along her love of cooking to all or her children.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Kevern (Kurt), Kevin David Larson, Stacey St. Jeor (Scott), Steph Callicott (Jeffrey), JennyAnne Nugent, her 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mom, we will love you forever and think of you always! Thank you for being such a great Mom and Nana to us all! We love you!
We would like to thank Niki from Inspiration Hospice for taking such great care of our dear Mom for the past two years. We appreciate all the extra care, attention, and comfort you offered her. We would also like to thank those dedicated neighbors and friends who visited with her.
Funeral services for our Mom will be held Friday, September 17th, at 2:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary. 3401 South Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah
