Kerry Jonathan Clark, 30, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He fought a hard battle to overcome substance abuse addiction and depression.
Jon was born on October 26, 1986 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Kerry Murray Clark and Laurie Maynard Clark. As a young boy Jon was vibrant, full of life and had an irresistible grin. He was a Cub Scout and enjoyed playing soccer. He loved adventure, exploring, and the outdoors. Jon attended Olympus High School and received his diploma in 2005 from Stillwater Academy. He held several jobs, but found satisfaction and good friends while bartending the last decade. He was proud of his ability to create different drinks to put on the menu.
While Jon struggled to conquer his addiction for many years, his life was not defined by it. Jon was a kind, funny, and generous man who loved his family, friends, animals, and especially his nieces. He loved to travel, meet new people, skateboard, and snowboard. Jon loved music and liked to write lyrics and poetry. He had a big personality and aspired to be a stand-up comedian.
Jon is preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Emma Jean Maynard, Sharon and Joyce Clark, and uncles Robert Maynard and Timothy Clark. He is survived by his mother Laurie Clark, father Kerry Clark (Tonyia), sister Jessica Palmer (Robert), and brothers Robert Clark and David Clark.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a viewing at Wasatch Lawn Memorial (3401 S. Highland Dr.) on October 27, 2017 between the hours of 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be October 28, 2017 at the LDS Meetinghouse located at 1361 E. 4000 S. in Salt Lake City, Utah. At 11:00 AM. The viewing will be held just before from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial.
