Hans J. Pruyt

Salt Lake City, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Hans Jerry Pruyt at age 80, passed away on May 26, 2013 after a long and valiant fight with cancer. Hans had a zest for life and lived every day to its fullest. He was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands on April 2, 1933. He was the only child, son of Maria Adrianna Klem and Gerrit Pruyt. Hans enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time with his lovely wife Carla Pruyt, and his family. Hans attended West High School and later opened his own Cummins dealership, D & D. Diesel. Prior to becoming a businessman, Hans served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp. Hans was also a Captain with the Merchant Marine.

On January 29, 2005 Hans married Carla Pruyt. Hans was a wonderful man, with an adventurous spirit. He is survived by his three children: Scott (Jolene) Pruyt, Ryan (Noreen) Pruyt, and Pam (Monty) Millerberg and their mother JoAnn Saunders, stepchildren, Clifford (Christine) Rodriquez, Russell (Monica) Rodriquez, Heidi Rice, Martin Rodriquez, Hans is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, and grand-daughter Jasime Pruyt-Millerberg. Hans has experienced many things in his life and made many friends. He has a unique sense of humor that was loved by many. He will be deeply missed.
