Marsden Cazier passed away in his home in Salt Lake City on September 16, 2018. He was born on July 18, 1921 to Gerald and Edna Jensen Cazier in Nephi, Utah. He was raised on a 3,000 acre cattle ranch where he worked with horses and cattle. He bought his own plane during this time. He went to Brigham Young University, Utah State University, and received a Masters Degree at the University of Utah where he lectured in the Business School. He also graduated from the American Institute of Banking.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a mission in the Eastern States Mission from 1942-1944. He was set apart as a Seventy and served as one of the Seven Presidents of Seventy in 3 different Stakes as well as many other callings in the Church during his life.
Returning from his mission he served immediately in World War II. He was put in charge of the Military Post Office at Pearl Harbor. Later he was called back to serve in the Korean War. He was also a Captain with the Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue.
Marsden worked for Continental Bank for 34 years where he retired as a Trust Officer. He then worked for the Department of Defense for 14 years participating in the implementation of the INF Treaty with the On Site Inspection Agency, then with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. He married Phyllis Maurine Johnson in the Salt Lake Temple on June 9, 1961. He is survived by his wife and 4 daughters: Marné Cazier Ruesch (James, deceased) Allyson Cazier Nilssen (Tore), Janalee Cazier Rigby (Chad) and Caleen Cazier, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He loved his family and those around him. His daughters grew up thinking he was perfect.
Marsden and Phyllis had a full, active and happy life traveling to many countries in the world and enjoying many special friends. He was proceeded in death by his brothers Richard, Stanford and sister Geraldine Callister.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday September 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Monument Park Stake Center (1320 S. Wasatch Dr.) A viewing will be held prior to the funeral at 10:00 -10:45 a.m. and also Friday Evening September 21 from 6:00 -7:30 p.m.
