Gayle Martin

Born September 2, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Daughter of Merl MacKay and Lewis Edward Meyers. She married Orson E. Martin on December 19, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple.

They had a wonderful life together, watching their 4 children grow up and enjoying service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Camping, fishing and golf were very enjoyable parts of their recreation.

Gayle served as Sunday School Teacher, Substitute Seminary Teacher, Primary President, Relief Society President, Writer on the Church Curriculum Committee and as a Stake/Service Missionary. She attended the University of Utah for 2 years where she met Orson.

She was preceded in death by: Husband- Orson Martin, Parents- Lewis and Merl Meyers, Sister, Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-Law.

She is survived by: Children- Scott (Robyn) Martin, Marsha (Richard) Ray, Janice (Max) Rothman, Michelle (Randall) Spilker. 15 Grandchildren, 36 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah. Her viewing will be held Saturday morning from 11:45 - 12:45 at Wasatch Lawn. Interment will be at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Ashley Fullmer RN with Atlas Hospice for her professional and loving care. Also Ashlie, Aide for her sweet care. A big thank you to the staff of Whisper Cove for their care.
