Gary Reeve Norman passed away on July 24th after a short battle with cancer. He was born on March 26, 1939 in Provo, Utah to Albert Reeve Norman and Duluth Peterson and was raised in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. He married Susan Bush on September 22,1959 in the Manti LDS Temple. They were blessed with ten wonderful children. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Zoology and Chemistry and then became a certified Safety Professional and a Registered Engineer. His work in the nuclear industry took them to Idaho, Nevada & California. Highlights of his career were overseeing safety for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics. He has worked as a Safety Consultant for the past 17 years for Moreton & Co.
Gary served faithfully in many callings in the LDS Church. He and his wife served 4 missions in the Inner-City (PioneerStake) and the Addiction Recovery Program. They enjoyed traveling the world with his profession and spending time at the family cabin in the Uintas which he built with his children.
He is survived by his wife, Susan and their children, Doug (Bonnie), Russ (Jan), Wendi (Keith) Hillman, Lauri (Steve) Redd, Nancy (Kirt) Poulsen, Patricia (David) Johnson, Karen (Steve) Edwards, Andrea (Bret) Iverson, Deanna (Bryan) Jensen, Richard (Stephanie), 34 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother Bryant (Miki) Norman & neices & nephews. Preceded in death by parents and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 29th at 11 AM at the Sego Lily LDS chapel, 10312 South Ashley Park Drive (2130 East) Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 South Highland Drive and at the church 1 hour prior to the services. Internment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
