Dorothy Mae Schauerhamer Combs, wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother passed away peacefully on November 3, 2011 of natural causes incident to age. She was born July 1,1923 to William Louis Schauerhamer and Mary C. Krahenbuhl in Wilmington, CA and was raised in Salt Lake City, UT. She met Kenneth B. Combs in January, 1944. He proposed on Valentine's Day and they married Feb. 20th in Redwood City, CA after which he immediately returned to active duty aboard the U.S.S. Salt Lake City for 18 months. She loved being a stay-at-home mom until she was forced to resume working in 1963 when her husband was tragically killed in an airplane crash. She raised her two daughters working at Memorial Estates and Browning Freight Lines.
She is survived by her two daughters, Terry Jolley and Debbie Herburg (Kim), 4 grandchildren, Shawn, Shellie, Shane and Houston, and 7 great-grandchildren, Bryan, Zackery, Elizabeth, Alexus, Josh, Lily and Harrison. Her nine siblings preceded her in death.
Next to her family, she loved bridge and tap dancing. She played in several different bridge groups for over 60 years and was a tap dance instructor at Sunny Anderson West Senior Center for 10 years. She loved the beauty of the earth and found solace in her garden. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3401 S. Highland Drive, SLC, UT. The family will receive friends Monday, November 7th from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral.
