Cheryl Ann Schneiter White passed away peacefully in her sleep July 18, 2017 of respiratory failure due to an unknown neurological cause. She was born February 4, 1933 to George Henry and Bernice Slade Malan Schneiter.
Cheryl attended Ogden and Salt Lake City Schools, graduating from South High School in 1951.
She was a student at the University of Utah. She married Earl Francis White on July 1, 1954. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple December 3, 1954.
Cheryl enjoyed traveling and sightseeing. She accompanied her parents around the country while her Father was Tournament Director for the Professional Golfer’s Association. Once her own family came along, she and Earl took their children camping every summer and were able to visit most of the United States and some parts of Canada.
Cheryl loved to dance. She performed professionally with the Utah Civic Ballet and for many local and regional productions. She was either performing, doing choreography or giving dance instruction for forty years of her life. She had a dance studio in her basement, complete with a barre for ballet. Her favorite dance styles were ballet and tap.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was grateful to be able to use her talents as a dancer and choreographer in some of her ward and stake callings. She held many different callings and always fulfilled them faithfully. As a dedicated historian, she did extensive genealogy and family history work, sharing her records with family and friends. Cheryl served in many positions during her numerous years with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Stratford Camp. Cheryl always dedicated her best efforts to everything she did.
Survived by her children Gregg Earl White (Janice), Cheryl Gaye White Vaubel, Malan Schneiter White (Tayanna), and Celia Joy White; seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her Sister Suzanne Schneiter, parents, and brothers George Malan Schneiter and Thair Quince Schneiter.
A viewing will be held Friday July 28, 2017 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive in Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held Saturday July 29, 2017 from 10 to 10:45 A.M. at Stratford Ward, 1500 East and Stratford Avenue (2605 South) in Salt Lake City, after which the family prayer and funeral services will immediately follow. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
Cheryl’s favorite charity was Primary Children’s Medical Center, donations are encouraged.
