Lehi, Utah. He was born on 5 March 1948 to Azalia Rae and Ralph Hollis Brown in Salt
Lake City, UT, the oldest of 5 boys. He graduated from the University of the Pacific at
Stockton, CA with a degree in Civil Engineering and went on to have a career with New
York Life where he spent over 40 years as a financial advisor. Brad loved his work and
the people he worked with. He was an active member of PEA in Northern California
where he enjoyed many years working with friends and associates.
Brad devoted his life to his wife, children and grandchildren, each of them knowing they
were his favorite because of his unconditional love. His family loved to gather around
him. His children and grandchildren will especially miss getting to spend special alone
time with Grandpa and Grandma Brown during special birthday sleepovers, putting
together puzzles in the sunroom that he always bought with careful consideration for
those who would be coming over, playing any card game with him (he loved them all
and was good at all of them but would always let the little ones win), his thoughtful
nature and the way he would run out on a dime to grab food or supplies for anyone who
was down or in need, his bringing random treats to his children's homes which the
grandchildren looked forward to with eager anticipation, and his beloved and cherished
backyard barbeques that will never be quite the same without his attention to detail and
love to make sure everyone was happy (shrimp, boneless bbq chicken, grilled corn) and
him donning his bbq chef apron that endeared all who saw it on him. This great man
was considered “a gift” of light, laughter, security, and love by those who knew and loved
him… he will be missed.
Brad was an active member of life and celebrated each day with an enthusiastic
welcome. He cheered on sons, daughters, and grandchildren at countless sporting
events, dance recitals, school events, etc., was a wonderful friend and support to many,
served as a devoted Minister (Home Teacher) and faithfully upheld multiple church
callings.
Those who knew Brad knew him as one of the kindest, most genuine souls, most
dedicated agent, and most of all someone who would do anything for people he cared
about. His passion for life, family, and the NYLIC community were infectious. Brad was
an invaluable leader to anyone who had the opportunity to work with him, with wisdom
that only his years and life experience could bring.
Brad is survived by his loving wife, Diane Elizabeth Brown of Lehi, Utah; his children
