Zelma Turner Chewning Robinson

ROBINSON, Zelma Turner Chewning, died in Midlothian, Va. on November 8, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Reuben and Elsie Adele Satterwhite Chewning. Mrs. Robinson was a native of the Auburn Mills area of Hanover County. She was married to the late Harold G. Robinson for 70 years. They raised their family in Richmond, Wilmington, Delaware and Waynesboro Mrs. Robinson was a member of First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, as a girl and young woman, of Berea Baptist Church, Hylas. Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by two children, Lois Adele Robinson Gilligan (Mrs. Thomas) and John Harold Robinson (Susan).
She is survived by two of her four children, Dale G. Robinson (Maria Elsa) of Miami, Fla. and Joan Z. (Mrs. James) Prorock of Midlothian; . She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Katherine R. Gilligan (Mrs. Steve) Campbell of Sherman Oaks, Calif., Elizabeth R. Gilligan of Albuquerque, N.M., Anna R. Gilligan of Brooklyn, N.Y., Alyson J. (Mrs. Jeff Marthinuss) Prorock of Barboursville, Va., Benjamin A. Prorock (Katie) of Oklahoma City, Okla., Dr. Lindsay T. (Mrs. Ryan) Caradonna of Gulph Mills, Pa., Edgar R. Robinson of Orlando, Fla., and Harold H. Robinson of Cutler Bay, Fla.; great-grandsons, Chase Caradonna of Gulph Mills, Pa. and Westly Stephen Campbell of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., and where a funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at www.woodyfuneralhome.com.
