Roger was a die-hard Alabama football fan and never missed a game. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in Desert Storm. After serving in the Army, he became a Greyhound bus driver where he enjoyed seeing the different cities and learning about the places he visited. He then attended nursing college where he graduated as a registered nurse, working in the ICU at Chippenham, Emory and Poplar Springs. He was an avid reader and film-buff, especially old black and white movies. He loved history and knew a little bit about everything, regaling his family with all his useless knowledge. He will be dearly missed and was loved by all who were lucky enough to know him.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Monday, November 28, at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, November 29 at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Rd. North Chesterfield 23235.
Interment will take place at a later date at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA.
A special thanks goes out to Tracie Waldo for years of friendship and care.
