Obituary of Michael Eugene Hoosack
Michael Eugene Hoosack, 66, of Midlothian, VA, peacefully passed away on June 15, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was known affectionately as Mike, Bear, Hook, and Pop Pop. He was born on November 26, 1957 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Eugene J.J. Hoosack and Betty M. Hoosack. Mike graduated from Norview High School in 1976 where he met his high school sweetheart Paula and later married in 1979. He worked in the overhead door business and was employed at Dominion Door Solutions. Mike knew how to have a good time and make a joke whether inappropriate or not. As most of you know he had a magnetic personality and was an amazing friend always willing to lend a helping hand. He was an avid lover of the St.Louis/Los Angeles Rams football team from the age of 10. Mike had a love for percussion and played the drums growing up; he loved classic rock and went to numerous concerts saving every ticket stub. He enjoyed the beach and Outerbanks vacations with his family. He cherished the girls in his life and loved being a husband, Father and Pop Pop to his girl gang. Mike left behind his wife, the love of his life, Paula, of 45 years; three daughters Kelli Bradley (Ricky) of Powhatan, Virginia, Kimmie Cintron (Brandon) of Powhatan, Virginia, and Krista Dovel (Justin) of Midlothian, Virginia; and six grandchildren Elisha, Joni, Marley, Annabella, Hannah and Melanie. He is also survived by two sisters Sandi Trader (Bobby), and Debbie Jones (Mickey); and his in-laws, Roger and Vickie Butcher, Claude and Lori Cox, and Kenny and Lori Warmunde of Chesapeake, Virginia; several nieces and nephews that he adored, and countless friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at St. Francis Hospital for taking such good care of him. Thank you to the South Beach Family for all your love and support. Please join us for a celebration of life on Thursday June 27th at 12pm at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, Virginia 23113. Bear was a cool and casual guy so wear what you please! His favorite colors were red and black!
