Melinda “Lynn” Ann Koth (née Mitchell) passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence John Koth, and is survived by her children, Laurie Jane Koth and Lance Jerome Koth, and five grandchildren, Daniel Koth, Sarah Koth, Noah Green, Frankie Green, and Sean Green. Lynn was born in Multnomah, Portland, Oregon, on September 13, 1943, and married Larry Koth on June 13, 1964. She studied at Oregon State University and completed her degree in Early Childhood Education at Virginia Commonwealth University. She taught preschool at Redeemer Lutheran Church and Kindergarten at Evergreen Elementary School in Chesterfield County and lived most of her life in Chesterfield and Powhatan Counties in Virginia. She was a prolific quilter, creating dozens of colorful and intricate quilts that she often shared as gifts for family and friends. Lynn spent much of her time taking road trips with Larry, traveling across the contiguous United States and as far as Alaska with their dogs. In her younger years she traveled to Hawaii and abroad, seeing much of North America and Europe through her life.
