Mary Anderson Dunn

Mary Anderson Dunn, of Midlothian, Virginia, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 74 years of age. Mary was born on November 7, 1947 in Brevard, NC, a small mountain town in Transylvania county. Mary moved to Atlanta, GA in the mid-1970’s, which she called home for over 40 years. She worked as a dental hygienist for 40 years at a dental practice that felt like family where she made lifelong friends. Mary was always very active and loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She was a Member of the Harmony Grove United Methodist Church in Lilburn, GA and later a member of the Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church in Midlothian, VA when she moved to be closer to family. During her time in Georgia and Virginia she made some amazing friends which reflects Mary’s ability to meet genuine people and blossom those relationships that last for a lifetime. Mary always held her friends and family close to her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and John Anderson. She is survived by her brother Jon (Pat) Anderson, and sisters Penny (Ted) Woods and Roseanne (David) Shepherd. She is also survived by her son Eric (Anne) James and three grandchildren Lila, Ethan and Colin. At this time, the family has chosen to remember Mary privately. A celebration of her life and legacy will be held in her hometown, Brevard NC, in the spring of 2022.
