Margaret S. Heflin

Margaret (Peggy) Street Heflin, 76, of Midlothian, Va, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father Walter Scott Street Jr., her mother Margaret Street Robbins, her stepfather Edgar L. Robbins, and her brother Walter Scott Street III. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William Nelson Heflin Jr.; her daughters Kate Valdes (Claudio), Anne Harrell (Jason), and her son William Heflin III; grandchildren, Orlando and Marisa Valdes, and Stella and Everly Harrell. Born in Bon Air, Peggy graduated from Collegiate High School and went on to receive her teaching degree from Queens college. After retiring from teaching math at Trinity Episcopal School, she and her husband Bill enjoyed many years at Lake Gaston, NC where she was an avid volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and champion pickle ball player. She later returned to VA where she spent her remaining time at Bickford of Chesterfield. Peggy loved games, spending time on the lake, playing with her grandchildren, and cherished her annual getaways with college friends, the “Queenies”.

Remains rest at Woody’s Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm Friday, September 22. Funeral services will be held at 12pm Saturday, September 23, at Saint Matthias Episcopal Church, 11300 W Huguenot Rd. A reception will immediately follow at Woody’s Funeral home.
