Kate Jordan Rigsby

A loving wife to Ben Rigsby of 59 years; mother of Michael and Scott (Connie); grandmother to Trice (Samantha); great-grandmother to Parker.

Early in life, she worked at Travelers Insurance. After starting her family, she worked as a Teacher's Aide at Chesterfield County Public Schools.

Her focus was always on her family and caring for others. She took time to check in on everyone by visiting, calling, sending cards and letters. Kate was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing new recipies with her family and cooking meals for the sick/unabled. Vegetable gardening was a large part of her family tradition; she took pride in preserving the garden harvests. She enjoyed photography and being the family historian. She loved seeing the jonquils bloom in early spring; they were her birth flower.

Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; her parents, Ramsey Jordan and Lucy Trice Jordan.

She is survived by her sister Effie Jordan Kahl (Bill), sons Michael and Scott (Connie), grandson Trice (Samantha), great-grandson Parker, nieces Stephanie (Chris) and Denise (Kevin); many great-nephews and a great-niece.

Service will be held in the mausoleum at Westhampton Memorial Park on Monday, November 27, at 12 p.m.
