Jean G. Marsh

Jean G. Marsh passed away on December 4, 2023. Jean was born on Curles Neck Plantation Oct 16th 1925. The family later moved to Burkeville Va. where in 1932 she lost her father during a train accident. She, her brother, and two sisters were raised by her mother during the Great Depression. In 1949 she married Homer S. Marsh and began a family of four children in Richmond Virginia. In order to help support her children she took a secretarial position at McGuire VA Hospital Volunteer Service where she eventually retired from. She was a warm and caring good Christian person who devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She loved life and was very optimistic no matter what challenges she faced, even at the end of her life. She loved to garden, the beach, and helping people. She was a member of Bethany Place Baptist Church and loved her Sunday school class. She is survived by John and Celine Marsh, their children: Claire, Hunter, Lynn, and Nicole. Additionally, Paul and Karen Marsh, their children: Alex, Justin, and Madison. Finally, her son Tom and daughter Barbara. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10 from 1-4pm at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel.
