Gerald Farrell Johnson passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Johnson; brother Glenn Johnson; sons Benjamin Johnson and wife Lynn, Michael Johnson and wife Deb; grandsons Jake Johnson, Nate Johnson, Justin Johnson and Brandon Johnson; and six granddogs.
He was married for 53 years to Rebecca Holt Johnson who he met in high school. He enjoyed playing golf with his weekly group at local clubs. He loved fishing, especially on the Rappahannock River when his boys were young. He was an avid gardener and liked making and delivering “Pop Pop’s zucchini bread” each year to his sons’ families. He was an electrical engineer and worked for Dominion Energy for 29 years and Basler Electric for 14 years. After retiring, he continued to teach at the Dominion training center. He loved his family above all else. He shared their love for dogs and had a playful sense of humor.
The family will receive friends from 3 - 5 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
