Dorothy Martha Murray, 97, of Midlothian, Virginia passed away peacefully on November 5, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Murray; brother, Joseph Kane; and parents, Anna and Joseph Kuntz.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Kuntz, of Manchester, New Jersey; daughter, Susan Zemke, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughter, Anne Rohman, and husband, Thomas P. Rohman, of Midlothian, Virginia; and son, Michael J. Murray, and wife, Sherry, of Charlotte, North Carolina. Surviving also are six grandchildren: Katherine Rohman Ollinger (Michael), Dr. Timothy P. Rohman (Pam), Michael J. Rohman, Thomas N. Murray (Wendi), Christopher M. Murray (Jessica), Anna Murray Rice (Michael); and ten great
grandchildren.
Mrs. Murray was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, and graduated from Walton High School in 1942. Upon her husband's retirement in 1986, they settled in Midlothian to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She was an active member of the Salisbury Women's Club, the Salisbury Women's Golf Association, and attended many seasons of the Richmond Forum, Virginia Opera, and Richmond Ballet. She enjoyed her book club, playing cribbage and bridge, and attending dinners around town with her "First Friday" and "Third Thursday" friends. Above all else, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and "Oma" and will be greatly missed by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Drive, Midlothian, Virginia on November 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Burial to follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
