Walker Elijah Montgomery

W. E. Montgomery, 85, and Joyce Montgomery, 84 of Louisville, formally of Midland, Texas passed away November 9 and November 29, 2022, surrounded by loving family, dear friends, beloved dog, and compassionate caregivers that stayed by their side.

They shared their lives together for 65 years and were connected in inseparable ways. Together they enjoyed a rich and fulfilling union this very close bond influenced and touched the lives of family and friends.

W. E. Was born to Adam Baird (A.B.) and Dessie Montgomery on July 27, 1937, in Midland, Texas. W.E. Graduated from Andrews High School and Texas Tech University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Joyce Linville Montgomery was born on January 11, 1938, to James and Elsie Linville in San Augustine, Texas. She attended Andrews High and Texas Tech University with W.E. He grew up in a ranching family in Midland and Andrews County. He married the love of his life, Joyce Linville on May 26, 1957. They had three children during their adventures through the oil fields, finally returning to Midland in 1974, and retiring in 2002 to Kentucky. Walker loved his family, weekends working cattle with his Dad and kids, summers fishing with his best friend Bob, and Engineering. His Petroleum Engineering career spanned 40+ years, was a true passion and provided many lifelong friends. He always said he never worked a day of his life because if you love what you do every day, it's not work. Joyce's passion was her family, performing in her church, praising the Lord through her music, and lovingly baking for family and friends.

They instilled their love for family, compassion, and generosity for those less fortunate, and God, in each of our hearts. Paramount, was their devotion to each other, living a principled life with a strong work ethic, and building a loving boisterous family. These were the tenants of their marriage. Survived by three adoring children. Lisa Gandy (late husband Steve), Adam Montgomery (Maria), and Mona Thompson (Mike). Nine grandchildren: Kara Smith (Taylor), Rebecca Gandy, Tucker Gandy (Lissa), Dagan Montgomery, Luke Montgomery, Bowen Montgomery, Emily Endicott (Zac), Cody Montgomery (Tori), and Nate Tucker (Caroline). Six great-grandchildren: Lisa, Ethan, Grant Smith; Coraline Endicott; Collins Tucker; Nolan Gandy. Loving Caregiver, Abby Gayle Bailey.

Graveside Services for Walker and Joyce, under the direction of Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home, will be Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery.
