Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, U.L. Strambler, also known as "School Boy", departed this life on Jan. 17, 2018 to begin his eternal rest with our Lord and Savior.
U.L. was born in Warda, Texas. On April 5, 1931 to Isaiah Strambler and Delsie Cato. On January 20, 1956, he married Adail Murphy, his loving wife of 62 years.
U.L. worked as a Plant Operator for Enron Oil and Gas Company for fifty years until his retirement. He enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and cross-country motorcycle trips. He was also actively involved in the Buffalo Soldiers Club, and the Tall City Motorcycle Club.
U.L. is preceded in death by his parents; daughters Judith Bell and Dell Ree Royals; sister Dorris Maxey, and grandson Jamond Mitchell.
U.L. leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Adail Strambler; daughter Barbara Mitchell; son Gregory Lewis Strambler; five grandsons, Robert Royals III, Urell Royals, Isaiah Royals, Jamil Mitchell, and Earnest Mitchell; granddaughters, Mircle A. Bell and Aushale Flowers; loving nieces Martha Sue Wagner and Margaret Strambler; nephew Esque Strambler; twenty great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm. Friday January 26, 2018 at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Hwy., Midland, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm. Saturday January 27, 2018 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at 1801 N. Carver St. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park following services.
