Sydney Joanne Deramus Legendre

On January 27, 1969 she married the love of her life, John W. Legendre. Together they owned and operated Apex Signs and Apex Consulting along with raising four wonderful children. She was very active in the family business, but her main focus was always on her family. Throughout the years of her family growth, Joanne participated enthusiastically in the lives of her children as team mom, room mother, score keeper, PTA member, and a Midland Independent School District volunteer for over 30 years. Twice being named volunteer of the year for MISD. In the later years, she was employed with Albertsons as a Front End Clerk. Joanne was an avid reader and liked to play many card games with friends and family.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, John W. Legendre and her father, James Deramus. She is survived by her mother Dee Schultz and her, sons Gary Click and wife Sherrie, Terry Legendre and wife Shani, John Edward Legendre and wife Cindy; daughter, Dorsey Legendre; grandchildren, Christina Daniel , Dezoree Henry and husband Bruce, Breann Hall and husband Randy, Tad Legendre and wife Bekah, Tyler Legendre and wife Tori; Chelsea and Tyson Legendre; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Brianna and Kaleb Henry, Hannah and Brylie Hall, Trip, Denim and Hattie-Mae Legendre along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home Friday, August 15, 2014 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Genesis Center across from Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Tony and Karen Conner and Brandon Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tad Legendre, Tyler Legendre, Tyson Legendre, Harrison Baumann, Clay Erwin, Robby McBryde, Terry Bernard and Kevin McPherson. Honorary pallbearers are Trip Legendre and Russell Conger.
