Hey my friend you are still missed both here in Midland and home in Okmulgee, our Muscogee Creek Friends miss you as well.  I still don't know why you had to die thought you were improving.  I know your family misses you as well.  I still expect at times to see you and then when I start looking for you the memory reminds me you are not coming.  You were a good Buddy.

To Paul's family, our deepest condolences. My late husband and he were together at the local Disabled American Veterans and Paul did the honor guard at my late husband's funeral and many other funerals for Veterans at our Church. Thank you for your service Paul.  May you rest in peace.

Paul was the quintessential big brother, always setting a standard little brothers the world over could only hope to attain.  Independent minded upon entering the armed forces following high school graduation, Paul maintained an unwavering ethic of duty to country and commitment to community throughout his life.  Even post retirement, Paul volunteered his time and expertise serving his brotherhood of Vietnam-era vets.  As far as I remember, he faithfully wore a bracelet commemorating a particular POW/MIA of the Vietnam war even decades after the conflict was over.  His patriotism was unquestionable and admirable, and his love of community was reflected by his career in varying fields of law enforcement.  Also remarkable was his loyalty to family.  Having good reason to shun or even disown me, he nevertheless took me in when I possessed nothing and sheltered and fed me without recompense.  Neither did he forget loved ones years after their passing, as was evident by his continued care of various resting places long after their deaths.  Unremarkable 50 years ago, but a testament to his character in these troubling times.  His renewed dedication to belief in Jesus Christ and obedience to our Heavenly Father gives me confidence in a joyful family reunion some day, but until then he will be missed for the preceding attributes amongst others too numerous to describe.  Love and miss you already, Big Bro.

We are so very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. Our thoughts, love, and prayers are with you and all your family. Paul and I were friends all of our lives, and our roots began back in Merkel, TX, many years ago.  In the last number of years when Paul would travel back to Abilene/Merkel, we would try to make time to visit. Paul was a lifelong friend and will be missed. Again Laurie, you know our prayers are with all of you.

Not only was Paul an USAF brother but he was also a dear friend of mine, the time he was able to be in Okmulgee...we were able to visit and share good times.
Just as with you, family, he will be missed...but he will always be a part and remembered here at his original homeplace.
Please know he touched our lives just as he did yours...

So sorry to hear of Paul's passing. From a fellow veteran, Air Force Security Policeman, and State of Texas Parole Officer - Paul rest in peace, your watch has ended. Salute.

Over the years you have become one of my best friends.  We have shared the Muscogee Creek Nation and our love for Oklahoma together.  We share mutual friends from the Nation.  They to will miss you and are planning to Honor Your Memory.  You will be missed and now I have no one to talk to, I know you are now walking beside Jesus and meeting old friends.  You will be missed my brother.

Paul Reed was a kind and gentle man.  He was God fearing, loved his country and family, loved to sing, loved learning new history any that he could find.  He loved dogs and the outdoors.  He was always protective of his family and I know that first hand.  If it was'nt for my Uncle I probably would'nt have gotten out of a bad situation.  He was very proud of his heritage and I learned alot about it from him.  He was in law enforcement and we would ask him about when people called him a PIG.  His response was always Pride, Integrity and Guts!  And you know what, he had all 3 of those.  Can't forget that he loved trains, still a kid at heart sometimes!  I love to cook and when he was around I loved to cook for him, he especially loved my eggrolls and could'nt get enough of them.  He was stubborn and liked things the way he liked them and his routine, but I would'nt have him any other way,thats what made him special to me.  There are a few things to celebrate, and that is his life and in his death he gets to see our Lord and the streets of gold and he also gets to hug my Grandpa and JoJo.  He has'nt seen them in a long time and the reunion, I know is sweet!
I love you Uncle Paul!
