Norma Jean Hubbard Boles passed away in Midland, Texas on August 8, 2011 after a long illness. Norma Jean was born October 12, 1930 in Coleman, Texas to O.J. Hubbard and Carrie Flynt Hubbard and later moved to Midland, Texas.
She graduated from Midland High School and Christian College in Columbia, Missouri and attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She traveled extensively with her high school and college friends.
Norma Jean met Bud in Midland and married in 1954. They lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she was an active member of the Oklahoma City Junior League and was chairman of one or more of the committees. Later, while living in Houston she was active in Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and Houston Junior League. In Midland, Norma was active in the First Presbyterian Church, President of Ladies Association of Midland Country Club, and long time member of Midland Bible Study. She was also a member of Rake & Spade Garden Club and a board member of the Minuet Club.
She is survived by her husband, Bud; two sons, Robert Boles and his wife, Erin Boles of Dallas, Texas, Gregory H. Boles of Midland, Texas, and a daughter, Kathy Boles Anderson and her husband, Mike Anderson of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Orman J. Hubbard and Bonnie S. Hubbard of Midland, Texas. Bud and Norma have four grandchildren: Brittany Boles, Brandon Boles, Michael Anderson, and Hadley Anderson. She is blessed with many close relatives in Midland.
Norma Jean was a very caring and thoughtful person and will be missed by all of her friends and family.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Ellis Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park with Reverend Steve Schorr officiating. A memorial service will follow at First Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Mike Gates, Camden Chancellor, Flynt Chancellor, Chris Boles, Tracey Chancellor, Bill Chancellor, and Chris Mullen. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
