Melissa Diane Hayes

She received her GED from MISD and her cosmetology license in 1988. As a teenager she worked for Michael's Grill and pursued a career with JCPenny hair salon. She married David Wayne Hayes on October 9, 1998. She returned to Michael's Grill where she worked for many, many years. She managed the original Michael's on Illinois, moved to the new location and worked in the catering aspect of Michael's. The catering took her all around the Permian Basin doing what she loved. Missy's greatest passion in life was raising her family. She was active in PTA and other school activities that involved her children. Growing plants and flowers was her favorite hobby. Her outgoing personality drew people to her and she considered everyone a friend.

Missy was preceded in death by her dad and husband.

She is survived by her mother, Betty Payne, children: Jake Hayes, Melody Hayes, Cole Hayes one brother, Terry Payne of Austin, Texas and 5 grandchildren, Layla Hayes, Cameron Murphy, Jr. Cain Murphy, Channing Hayes, Jr., and Carlene Hayes all of Midland, Texas and many other loving family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family visitation will be Friday, June 16, 2017 from 5 to 8 pm at Ellis Funeral Home. A funeral will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10 am in the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel.
