Mary Louise Patterson, 80, of Midland Texas went to be with our Lord Sunday February 5, 2012 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Mary was born August 19, 1931 to Ruth Lucille Bryce and William Campbell Bryce in San Carlos, Texas. Mary graduated from Bingham High School in Bingham, Utah in 1948. She also attended Eastern New Mexico University where she met her husband, Bert Duane Patterson.
Mary and Bert eloped and were married in Fort Sumner New Mexico on December 16, 1949. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Mary worked for the Republican Party doing various jobs in the 1960’s. She worked at Sears in Odessa, Texas in the 1970s and 1980s and for Future Tech in Midland, Texas in the 1990s. She was also a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was an avid reader sometimes reading two books a day. She loved studying ancient Greek and Roman History, painted, built model ships, and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.
Mary is preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Belinda Patterson, her first grandchild, Billy Shane Wooten, her parents, and her brother, Kenneth Eugene Bryce.
She is survived by her husband, Bert, children Richard Patterson and Vicki Cortellini of Midland, and Michael Patterson of St. Joseph Missouri. Her grandchildren Sean Patterson, Jessica Santer, Kelsey Patterson, Brittany Rivera, Amber Hurst, Jeremy Patterson, Dustin Patterson, Phillip Cortellini, Joseph Cortellini, Tony Wooten, Cher Wooten, and 15 great grandchildren.
Mary’s memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2012 at Ellis Funeral Home. Condolences may be made at: www.ellisfunerals.com.
