Marilyn “Gail” Knight Granat walked through Heaven’s Gate on December 13, 2024 at the age of 82. Gail is the daughter of Les and Reka Knight, born on March 31, 1942 in Beach, North Dakota. She was raised on a farm she loved in Wibaux, Montana. She married Larry Granat on September 17, 1960. They had two daughters, Toni and Shannon.
Gail and Larry moved and lived in Glendive, Montana; Denver, Colorado; Baker, Montana; and Midland, Texas. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Midland, Texas where she taught midweek classes for many years.
Gail is survived by daughters, Toni Granat of Midland, Texas and Shannon Granat-Damin (Steve) of Frisco, Texas; three grandchildren, Savannah Hinz (Michael), Sophia Marshall (Trenton) and Andrew Damin; and brother, Wesley Knight (Margie). Gail was excited to welcome her first great-grandchild at the end of December. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Granat; parents, Les and Reka Knight; brothers, Rex Knight Sr. and Ralph Knight.
Public viewing will be Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 11 AM-12 PM at Grace Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow at Noon at Grace Lutheran Church officiated by Pastor Robert Pase and Pastor Mike Ramey.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Gail’s honor to Hospice of Midland in Midland, Texas.
