Manuel Rafael Ortega, age 40, was born March 8, 1982, in Odessa, TX. He passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. He married Claudia, the love of his life. Together, they welcomed four beautiful children, Manuel(21), Yesenia(17), Kimberly(13), and Emmanuel(9). Manuel graduated from Career Center High School in 2001.
Manuel was known as a devoted family man. Everything he did was with his wife and children in mind. He enjoyed being at the kids games and never missed their school events. He was a proud father, and any opportunity he had he would boast about his kids.
Manuel was known by many as a very hard worker, and would say “es una máquina para trabajar.” He served key energy for 22 years and had many home projects. His current project was the building of his shop, where his plans were to work from home to spend more time with his wife and kids. Manuel truly lived life to the fullest and wasted no time on pursuing his goals. Nothing was impossible for him, his words were often “don’t think about it, just do it” or “it’s just all in your head”
He is survived by his wife, Claudia, his sons, Manuel and Emmanuel, his daughters, Yesenia and Kimberly, his parents, Guadalupe Carrasco and Manuel Ortega from Ojinaga Chihuahua, Martha and Mauro Zuniga from Odessa, Tx, Brothers, Jesus Carrasco (Malena) and Mauro Zuniga Jr., sister, Yvette Zuniga Banuelos (Alan Banuelos), and sister Sonia (Alfonso Brito). He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Enriqueta Galindo "Unana", and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Manuel touched are invited to attend the services listed below to grieve and support each other.
A public visitation for Manuel will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home, 4616 N Big Spring Street, Midland, Texas 79705. A public visitation will occur Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, 4616 N Big Spring Street, Midland, Texas 79705. A rosary will occur Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 4616 N Big Spring Street, Midland, Texas 79705. A burial will occur Friday, December 16, 2022 at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4616 N Big Spring St, Midland, Texas 79705. A funeral mass will occur Friday, December 16, 2022 at St Stephen's Catholic Church, 4601 Neely Ave, Midland, Texas 79707.
