Kay is survived by her sons, Shane and Joshua Bell and his wife April in Midland, TX, her brother Robert Payne and wife Gail in Bangs, TX, sister in law Debbie Payne in North Richland Hills, TX , Aunt Linda Caraway in Midland, TX and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents C. Ray and Jeanne Payne in Midland, TX and her brother Kenneth Payne in Castle Rock, CO.
Kay Lynn was born on July 30th, 1955 in Andrews, TX to Ray and Jeanne Payne. She graduated from Midland Collage with a degree in Nursing. After graduating she began working as a Registered Nurse alongside her mother Jeanne, an LVN at Midland Memorial Hospital. She later worked in Big Spring, TX at the VA Hospital, the Veterans Nursing home and finally retiring from the Texas State Hospital. Her children remember her as a gentle mother who continuously encouraged them to pursue their dreams. In her retirement she lived with both Josh and Shane enjoying pestering them with computer issues and spoiling her beloved dog Daisy.
Kay Lynn was an accomplished nurse and loved to care for others. She was a generous and dedicated mother who loved nursing and was passionate about supporting her sons in everything they did. She often volunteered at American Red Cross as a Nurse in Disaster Services.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2pm January 4th, 2019 at Ellis Funeral Home, with a reception to follow. Robbie Boyd of First Baptist church will be officiating.
