He was 84 years old and survived by daughters Lynda Sue (Susie) Barker and Janie Barker Capezzuto.
He was born and raised in Seymour, Texas and after serving in the Army and receiving an honorable discharge, he and his family relocated to Midland, Texas. He was a retired auto mechanic, having worked at the Chevrolet dealership and retired from TU Electric.
He enjoyed spending time at the lake and watching John Wayne movies.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Jessie Barker, his wife, Tsune, and brothers, Lon Barker and John Barker.
A visitation will be held at Ellis Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Resthaven Memorial Park.
