David (Dave) Lee Young, 70, devoted Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, & Friend, Passed away on September 27, 2021, at Midland Memorial Hospital. David was born to JoAnn and David E. Young on March 23, 1951 in Fort Worth, Texas. As a child, David and his family moved from Fort Worth to Lubbock, and then the family found their home in Midland, Texas.
David enlisted in the Army, and served with the 5th US Army. David received the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service medal with one bronze service star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal, and a Special recognition as a Sharpshooter with a rifle. He received an Honorable discharge on August 13, 1973.
After serving in the Army, David returned to Midland to embark on his life as a civilian. David's last job was working at the Village Car Wash. He enjoyed his co-workers and visiting with the customers. He had many stories about cars and people.
David embraced life with compassion and a candid, energetic personality, He was a kind and giving person and enjoyed working on cars, listening to music, and visiting with Family and friends.
David is survived by his Mother, Joann Young, Sister, Debra Ann Young Masoner, Two brothers, Randy Young, and Glenn Young. Three nieces, Kastina Caudle of Muskogee, OK, Jennifer Hobbs, of Mansfield, TX, and Ashley Sanders of Roanoke, TX. Three nephews, Scott Young of Midland, TX, Jason Masoner of Lubbock, TX, and Tyler Young of Mooresville, NC. He is preceded in death by his Father, David (Pete) E. Young, Sister, Kathy E. Philpot, and Nephew, Michael Scott Philpot.
